For the Birds from Our State TV

One of the largest collections of waterfowl anywhere can be found in the little NC town of Scotland Neck. Sylvan Heights Waterfowl Center works to preserve waterfowl stocks throughout the world. Produced by UNC-TV in partnership with Our State Magazine, with generous funding from BB&T.

Cleanup Continues at Halifax Bird Sanctuary

About a half-dozen wild birds, turtles and other animals in the wetlands are being cleaned and treated Tuesday; a number of frogs were found dead.

A special tree house opened today that give everyone the chance to get a bird’s eye view.

The sylvan heights waterfowl park in Scotland Neck opened its new tree house. It’s a facility with a twist. It's fully wheel chair accessible.
