Bird Ecology and Biology

From highly modified beaks to extremely efficient respiratory systems, learn about the fundamental features of birds and the ways in which they are adapted to their environments. Consider the advantages and obstacles of flight, as well as varying flight styles. Discuss cycles of behavior and the roles birds serve as predator and prey species.

Wetland Ecology and Biology

Identify wetlands and the crucial role they play in the ecosystem. Assess wetland health by studying living organisms and conduct water quality tests using field techniques in the park's forested wetland. Review data and make conclusions based on field observations. Identify and discuss impacts to wetland habitats and how to better manage these important systems.

Time: 2 hours
